What decides the Patrol battery price in Dubai?
Four things, in this order of impact. Everything else is rounding.
- Capacity. A Patrol takes a large D31 battery of roughly 90 to 100Ah. That is far more lead than a small-car battery, and lead is what you are buying.
- Technology. AGM costs roughly 60% more than standard flooded of the same size, and where the Patrol specifies it, it is not a choice.
- Brand tier. Dearer brands buy you months, not magic. The gap between value and top-tier is real but smaller than the price gap suggests.
- Sensor reset and access. Resetting the battery sensor on a Y63 and reaching a Patrol in a third basement both take time. Both are included here.

Replace it, or just jump-start it?
A battery that was drained by an interior light, a fridge or three weeks at the airport is not a dead battery. That is why the load test comes before any price: it measures how the battery behaves under a real cranking load and checks that the alternator is charging it. A battery that passes gets a jump-start from AED 99 and stays in the car. One that fails is replaced on the same visit, and you choose the brand from the table above.

Why does a Patrol battery cost more than a small-car battery?
Capacity. A Patrol takes a D31 battery of roughly 90 to 100Ah, which holds far more lead than the battery in a small saloon, and lead is most of what a battery costs. Where the Patrol is built for AGM, that technology adds to the price again.
Is fitting included in the price?
Yes. Delivery, fitting and terminal cleaning, the load test on the battery and the alternator, a sensor reset where the Patrol needs one, collection of the old battery and VAT are all in the quoted price. There is no call-out fee on top.
Is it more expensive at night, at the weekend or in a basement?
No. The price is the same at 3am on a Friday as it is at 11am on a Tuesday, and neither basement parking nor a roadside call-out carries a surcharge.
What if my Patrol does not actually need a new battery?
Then you do not buy one. The free load test comes first; if the battery passes, a jump-start from AED 99 is all the Patrol needs and you keep the battery you have.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. As well as cash or card at the car, the price can be split into four interest-free payments with Tabby or Tamara.
